A thousand chains, nay more this world casts on me,
Once it called me a beggar, now it calls me king,
Once it laughed at me, now it laughs with me,
Deceptions, deceptions oh my, don’t fall for it!
The world is not yours, the world is not mine,
Tricks it plays, oh my friend it is endless,
Again and again we have fallen for its tricks,
We are merely pawns, neither beggars nor kings..
Poverty is a chain, riches is a chain,
Birth is a chain, death is a chain,
Pain is a chain, pleasure is a chain,
Blame a chain, Fame a chain,
None of these are our friends, neither are they enemies..
Illusions, illusions oh my mind, will you ever see it,
How much longer do we play this game,
A game we have taken to be the truth,
Truth appears to be a fiction..
Born as a slave, do we die as slaves?
Begging, asking, pleading, hoping,
Forever begging this world for trifles,
Trifles the other beggars tell us make them kings..
See the beggars as beggars, the kings as kings,
Confusion abounds, all is but a play,
Yes a play! indeed a play,
Now let us play knowing who we are!
Play with a smile, play with joy,
See underneath that mask, we are all fools!
Aye my friend, shed your doubts,
Dance, rejoice, it is indeed a play!
