The transition from employment to business is really exciting, scary, and joyful all at once. Now I’m at the beginning of this journey and have taken the daunting step of committing to entrepreneurship…
I’m jotting down these thoughts for my self reflection, to refer to at later stages of my journey, and to encourage others who share the same dreams..
Now what inspired me to be an entrepreneur?
Building something of my own, to make a difference, for financial independence…
To have my own independent voice in my profession…
To experiment with different ideas, to build bridges…
To have freedom..freedom with time, freedom of expression, freedom to grow…
Freedom to pursue my hobbies, to volunteer, to contribute…
What gave me confidence to pursue this path?
The blessings and encouragement of my parents, siblings, relatives and friends…
The support, trust and encouragement of my existing and former employers…
Close friends in both actuarial and non-actuarial circles who have pursued the entrepreneurial path, and freely gave me their guidance, encouragement, support and inspiration…
Faith in myself and in the divine, that the inner guide will show the light as I take my steps forward…
Now, I will forge ahead and start swimming…
Let me not forget why I chose this path, and may I enjoy the journey ahead!
