Note: I’ve used my artistic liberty to mix fiction with a sprinkling of facts to create this short series.
Now moving on with episode 5…
The K-T extinction event happened on our Earth in our Universe (U108 as per Troodon classification) 66 million years ago when a broken up comet from the Oort Cloud smashed into Earth in several pieces. This caused an extinction of 80% of life on Earth, ended the Mesozoic Era (era of the dinosaurs) and marked the beginning of the Cenazoic era (era of the mammals).
In the Troodon universe (U001), when this comet was going around the Sun, a sudden solar flare hit it, instantly disintegrating the comet completely. This branched off U001 from U108.
The K-T extinction event did not happen. The Mesozoic era continued, and the mammals never got the space to become a dominant class. Dinosaurs continued to flourish, thrive and dominate the Earth. Humans never existed...
The evolution of intelligence took an interesting and more complex turn here...Troodons evolved higher intelligence, but several other predator dinosaur species, on land, in air and in water, also evolved intelligence similar to what we see in chimpanzees, ravens and orcas in our Earth. Although compared to humans, Troodons had much more physical strength, vision at night etc, compared to other dinosaurs, they were much smaller & weaker. As such, Earth U001 was untameable, unconquerable, and a very hostile environment. The Troodons charted a very different course from humans as a result of this...
Earth was a sacred place, and home to around one million Troodons living in different tribes, scattered across the planet. These Troodons were on Earth voluntarily, by choice, and some of them were regarded as spiritual leaders and sages. Earth Troodons shunned technology, but some tribes reluctantly accepted the use of some surveillance tech only for protection. The only weapons allowed on Earth were primitive ones made on Earth, mostly spears and daggers, used only for hunting, protection and rituals.
A vastly larger population of Troodons were on the Moon, on Mars, and on several moons of Jupiter, Saturn & Neptune. Many made pilgrimages to Earth, and some stayed over for a few years by choice. Troodons outside of Earth regularly consulted shamans, sages, and oracles on Earth for guidance before embarking on major decisions and journeys, and they had to physically come to Earth for this, as no communication technology was allowed on Earth. This was a perilous journey for Troodons used to the comforts outside of Earth - fatalities did happen.
Troodons never invented money, and relied on increasingly complex barter trade systems. No Troodon could own property or land, as it all belonged to the Universe. Troodons could attain to fame and prestige by virtue of learning, artistic pursuits and discoveries.
